1930 silver Buren pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Buren, 15 jewels, Swiss made. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50.3mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1930 with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison... the Dennison Watch Case Company was an English company who supplied various watch makers with cases. The case has light surface marking from use and some wear to the engine turned detail on the back but overall it is in nice condition for a 1930s piece. There is a vacant cartouche to the back which has light surface marking.

The glass lens has some light surface marking from use.

The dial is in nice condition with breguet style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes on an antique silver double chain.

 

Each of the chains measure 18cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.  Each of the links have the lion silver mark to confirm that they are sterling silver.  The T-bar and clasps are also silver but later replacements.

 

Total weight 41g.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
