Louis Philippe Inlaid Birds Eye Commode

19th century
Description

Elegant French bird’s-eye maple Louis Philippe commode has a grey marble top with white flecks which is smooth to the touch. The piece has a classic shape with great lines; the wood has a lovely bright colour and the piece is inlaid with narrow banding surrounding all the drawers and on the sides. Below the top is a frieze drawer, with a further three drawers beneath. Featuring dovetail joints in the drawer sides. The piece has a solid plinth base with the front feet in a double pillow shape. A great item for a master bedroom or guest room.

In very good restored condition with only some slight signs of age related wear.

Originates from France, dates to the 19th Century, circa 1860.

Made from Maple wood.
