In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
It has round brass plate handles which, although are not original, suit the style and age of the piece very well. The lower section contains three graduating drawers and the top section contains two small over three long drawers and it stands on bracket feet. The piece splits into two parts to make transport easier.
The whole piece is in good condition. It is sturdy and the oak lined drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well. There are no signs of worm and it has developed a beautiful patina with a deep rich colour. It has been well maintained over the years and as such has some small old repairs to the veneer in places but nothing untoward. There are some minor signs of age and use, some small surface marks, minor splits and knocks but nothing detrimental and overall it displays beautifully.
