This 19th Century Spectacular Victorian Rosewood Antique Secretaire Wellington Chest dates from ca. 1860 and really is a true quality piece of antique furniture. It has a beautifully figured rectangular moulded top above six sliding drawers with turned handles, one being a double fall down front with Secretaire interior. The Secretaire interior has two small birds-eye-maple drawers, four pigeon holes and a writing surface. All the drawers on this magnificent antique chest are secured in place by a locking arm with working lock and key. This stunning piece stands on a moulded plinth and the Rosewood has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of antique wax finishing.
