Antique Thomas Russell full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a nicely jewelled Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Thomas Russell & Son, a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. In 1881 the company started importing movements from Switzerland, such as the one we have in this particular watch. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has general light surface marks.

The watch measures 51.6mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Thomas Russell model made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. is in good condition, just a handful of small indentations and general light surface marks, nothing serious at all.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens over a signed dial with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. The dial has a very faint hairline crack across the top half of the dial although hardly noticeable.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
