Description

Antique silver Tavannes pocket watch.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the brevet or patent number for an 1896 patent relating to time setting. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has images of medals and details of the movement.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Continental marks inside both of the case backs. The case is in lovely condition with just the odd minor mark and some age related rubbing to the patterned case back.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a faint hairline crack running across it and some short hairlines above number 12, mostly hidden by the bezel. Charming ornate hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
