Antique silver Waltham full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a 15-jewel grade 620 stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This is a good quality movement with a Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision, a Church 1892 patent regulator and screw set jewels. The movement is fully signed and the serial number, 13,340,420, dates it back to 1903.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers for Birmingham 1927, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. Dennisons manufactured most of the cases for Waltham UK.

The movement serial number and the hallmarks confirm that the movement and case are not original to each other. However, there is no scar damage at all which suggests the replacement movement is the same calibre as the original. Whole movements were sometimes replaced as an easier and possibly a more economically feasible option in the case of damage such as water ingress.

The case is in beautiful condition with still crisp engine turned detail, and a vacant cartouche to the front.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition.

The dial is in lovely condition.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
