Antique Longines pocket watch, 1904.

The watch has a 17-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has a

perlée (pearl) finish, a screw set jewel and swan neck regulator (the end has come off the swan neck but this does not affect the workings). The movement is signed with the Longines name and it has the serial number 1,735,141 which dates it back to 1904.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is engraved with the wording, ‘W J Cookson, Dec 25th 07, Porter Memorial Church’, believed to be the Baptist church in Lexington, Kentucky.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and the beaded detailing is a very handsome feature. There is also a vacant cartouche to the hinged case back but it is quite rubbed. The front of the watch is in good condition. The back has some unevenness.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The dial is in beautiful condition. One of the ornate hands is a period replacement.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
