Gents 1960s Smiths Astral wrist watch, made in England.

The watch has a 17-jewel hand-winding movement, 27CS, which is working nicely. The Astral was first introduced in 1959 and all of the Astrals had shockproofing. Production of the 27CS movement carried on until 1964 when the slim line version first went in to production.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold plated while the case back is stainless steel. The case is in very nice condition.

The lens has a 3mm scratch near the edge but looks good to the naked eye.

The signed dial is in its original finish with a bark like texture. Original hands, seconds sweep with red pointer end and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
