Description

1920s John Elkan gun metal “Colonial” pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewl stem-winding movement, identified as by Revue, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gun metal and, as with many gun metal cases, it has surface marking to the hinged case back.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, John Elkan Ltd, London. Elkans would have bought the watch in to be sold under the name “Colonial”. The dial is in lovely condition. At least one of the hands has been replaced with a period hand at some stage in its life.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
