Rare Smiths 15 Jewel Deluxe Everest Watch A409 Circa 1953

1940 - 1960
Description

 For sale is this fine and rare Smiths 15 jewel deluxe Everest watch, model A409 dating to 1953/4. The complete watch looks as though it has been hardly ever worn, the case retains 95% of its original chrome plate. The dial has only gently aged down, and it looks fantastic, being brighter then showing in the pics. The waterproof case back is marked Dennison Aquatite.  The watch is completely original though out and keeps excellent time. The Smiths Everest and Antarctic versions are becoming difficult to find, and in this condition probably a one off.  It is this version that is now considered the version taken on the Everest Expedition. Fitted with a new 18mm wide extra long, period design leather strap. Price £895.00 Reserved RP
