Good Large French Commode Chest in Oak & Marble

Description

This is a fine early 19th century French solid oak commode chest of good proportions dating from around 1830. The chest is a fine size and great shape, raised on stout carved cabriole legs with hoof feet. The drawers are all in excellent order, running freely and have their original cast gilt bronze handles and escutcheons. The substantial marble top is in excellent condition with a fabulous figured grain.

A very handsome chest, this measures 97 cms high by 140 wide by 57 cms deep
