Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Type 20 specification was established in the 1950s by the French Ministry of War for official pilot wristwatches. It required a high-contrast black dial, luminescent hands and numerals, a rotating bezel, and a flyback chronograph function to facilitate rapid timing resets during flight.

These timepieces typically utilised stainless steel or chrome-plated brass cases for durability, acrylic crystals over the dial, mechanical hand-wound movements, and luminescent paint applied to the hands and hour markers for night visibility.

Authentic military-issued pieces display military issue numbers and contract codes stamped onto the outer case back, alongside specific dial details such as a twin-register sub-dial configuration, fluted coin-edge bezel, and designated manufacturer branding such as Vixa.

A vintage military wristwatch pairs with casual attire such as denim and tailored knitwear, or structured jackets. It can be fitted with a aged leather strap or a NATO strap to reflect its utilitarian heritage.

Mechanical chronographs require periodic servicing by a qualified horologist every three to five years to inspect the movement and replace degraded lubricants. Keep the watch away from water and strong magnetic fields, and preserve original dial finishes rather than re-luming.
