Description

A magnificent colour and finish to this French early 19th century burr walnut and straight grain walnut commode ( chest of drawers ) with its original walnut top and bank of five drawers.

The burr walnut grain is matched from the plinth and runs through the drawer fronts but also through the drawer frames, so there is no interruption to the grain pattern which is a sign of great quality and craftsmanship too.

All drawers are running smoothly and have their original locks with one key and lovely brass drawer pulls too. The key is used as a drawer pull to the top drawer located in the shaped frieze.

Wonderful piece of furniture and will look great as a storage piece but also as a decorative piece elsewhere too. These often work well with a pair of chairs and a gilt mirror hanging above.
