Description

Outstandingly good quality and beautifully proportioned French Louis XVI style marble top commode with herringbone parquetry, all original solid brass fittings and a stunning Breche d'elap shaped marble top, circa 1860 and in super condition.

A very decorative and elegant chest of drawers which will settle into any room whether for storage or just to be admired on those fabulous tapering legs, finished with further inlay and brass caps to the feet.

The chest is made on a solid chestnut frame, so the condition is excellent with almost no age and stress to the veneers and parquetry.

The solid brass laurel leaf draped handles, escutcheons and pillars are the perfect contrast to the rich tulip wood.
