WW2 Unitas military pocket watch, chain and compass.

The watch has a good quality 15-jewel stem-winding movement (with optional Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision), which is working nicely.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is plated and it has some rubbing and marking, as you would hope to see in a WW2 piece. The back of the watch has the military arrow, or pheon, and the GSTP mark, General Service Time Piece or Trade Pattern.

The acrylic lens is in good condition. It would originally have had an acrylic lens so this is in keeping with the watch.

The dial is in its original finish although it appears to have been restored at some stage as the hairline cracks have been painted over.

The watch comes with a single chain 24cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Also included is a full hunter compass which we believe to be original to the watch, certainly of the correct period.

The watch, chain and compass will come in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
