Antique George III Mahogany Military Chest

Description

Circa 1790, a very rare and unusual George III mahogany two-part military chest, in the Dumfries House style. The rectangular shaped chest with solid top and simple moulded foredge. A configuration of three short over three full length drawers. Each of the drawers has a rounded brass escutcheon and original cast brass flush military handles. The dovetails are visible between the top and bottom sections, finishing with a simple foredge, and resting on four squat bun feet.
