Antique Silver Omega Pocket Watch

Antique silver Omega pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed on the regulator with the Omega logo.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover which has some unevenness.

The watch measures 47mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Continental hallmarks for 935 silver inside both of the case backs, this is slightly purer the 925 sterling silver. The inside of the case back also has the early Omega logo. The case has the odd small mark or “ding”, and there is some unevenness to the back.

The glass lens has a little marking and light surface scratches, overall it is very acceptable for such an early piece.

The dial has a few hairline cracks although they are very faint. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a letter from the Service Department at Omega, dated 1978, which confirms the date of manufacture as 1896.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
