Gents 1920s 9ct gold Waltham wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is working nicely. This is a good quality 15-jewel movement with Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision and nicely patterned plates. Fully signed with the Waltham name and the serial number 24,178,792 which dates it back to 1922.

The watch measures 30mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the fixed lugs so it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist, or it could be worn by a lady as a larger watch.. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1926 together with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. The Dennison Watch Case Company supplied most of the cases for Waltham UK. The case is in good condition, just a couple of small “dings” to the back, nothing too serious especially for such an early piece.

The lens has very light marks.

The signed dial has blued steel hands, a red 12 and outer minute markers. There are a couple of short faint hairlines to the top of the dial but they are difficult to see with the naked eye.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
