Gents 9ct gold Smiths Astral wrist watch, 1969.

The watch has a 17-jewel hand-winding movement, with hacking and stamped ‘Made in England’, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London, 1969 with a maker’s mark for Smiths Clocks & Watches. The case has a few little marks, mainly to the back, but nothing too serious. There is a British Rail long service inscription to the back.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, seconds sweep with red diamond shaped detail and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
