Description

This is a superb example of a gents classic wristwatch made by the world renowned maker Universal.
It has a solid 18ct yellow gold case and this is complimented by the original silver star burst dial which is in superb condition.
As you would expect from Universal the watch is fully marked on the dial and case.
It has the very desirable slimline 28 jewel calibre 218-9 movement. This was a big step forward in the development of the slimline automatic dress watch, by sinking the winding rotor into the movement Universal were able to produce the first slimline automatic dress watch.
This is exceptional and looks as though it has been kept in a box its whole life and never worn, a rare find indeed.
It is rare to find such a watch in this immaculate condition.
Universal are one of the most exclusive makers and this watch certainly has that understated elegance which resonates class.
The watch case measures 34mm in diameter not including the crown.
The watch has just been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Universal in all respects. This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then thoroughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The watch movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. the cases are polished and the watch sealed, in the case of waterproof watches a full waterproof pressure test is carried out to manufacturers specification.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many years.
We specialise in high end vintage watches which we professionally restore such as Omega, Longines, Rolex, Jaeger LeCoultre etc and also ladies platinum and diamond cocktail watches.
