1930s Silver Bauer Pocket Watch and Chain

1930s silver Bauer pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the mark for Hermann Friedrich Bauer of Weiler, Germany, and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover.

The business was founded in 1924 when Hermann and his three sons, Robert, Gustav and Eugen, started manufacturing gold watch cases and bracelets. In 1932, they rented a factory and started producing movements and complete watches.

This particular watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and has German marks inside the two hinged back covers. The case is nicely decorated on both the front and back, and the condition is good.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The dial is in its original finish with a textured pattern of vertical stripes.

The watch comes with a single silver chain, 33cm long.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
