Inlaid Satinwood Chest of Drawers by S & H Jewells

19th century
Description

Circa 1850 (possibly earlier as Jewells also restored old furniture), inlaid satinwood bow front chest of drawers stamped and with a brass plaque by makers S & H Jewells, Little Queen Street Holborn London (Established 1830). The bow front top with boxwood and ebony chequer and line inlay and mahogany cross banding, above 2 short and 3 long drawers with original oval cast brass handles. The drawer fronts with beautiful foliate marquetry inlay in exotic woods over an inlaid shaped skirt and standing on elegant French bracket feet.
