Culvertons has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This drawing is very reminiscent of a page from an art student's portfolio - during the early years of a student's artistic training, original works could not be submitted, but instead they had to copy old masters and classical subjects. The surface to the paper is not perfect, but these imperfections add to the image's overall appeal and feeling of antiquity. Housed sympathetically within a wash-lined pale blue mount and mahogany frame. The frame appears to be approximately 50 years old (the inner and outer edges have been ebonised for decorative effect).
Measurement of the drawing - 46 cm high x 36 cm wide / frame 62.5 cm high x 51 cm wide
