Description

Gents 1960s Smiths Astral National 15 wrist watch.

The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement, made in England, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the is chrome plated while the case back is stainless steel. There is a little marking to the plate, and some scratching to the case back.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is signed Smiths Astral National 15. It is in its original finish with blued steel hands and a subsidiary seconds dial. There is a little marking to the dial but fairly light.

The National 15 name originates from the 'Put on your National Hat' advertising campaign launched at the International Watch and Jewellery Trade Fair at Earls Court in September 1965.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
