Gents 1940s ‘Crown Watch’ wristwatch.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is plated while the case back is stainless steel. There is some marking to the plate, and a little plate loss, but overall very acceptable for a piece of its age. The case back has some scratches.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is signed Crown Watch, a name registered in 1947 by Crown Watch Co of Bombay, India, along with Crownix and Crownex. The company appears to have been an importer and distributor. The dial is in its original finish, feuille shaped hands and a subsidiary seconds dial.

A ‘new old stock’ leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
