Description:
This is a fine quality antique early Victorian flame mahogany four-door chiffonier sideboard, with a breakfront design, circa 1840, in excellent original condition. Comprising a rectangular shaped top, with a moulded edge above shaped frieze drawers, consisting of one large central drawer, flanked by two smaller drawers constructed with hand dovetailed joints. The base is decorated with four elegantly shaped flame mahogany inset door panels with an inverted breakfront design. Placing your fingers below the centre of the drawer will open the drawer. The left side comprises two tray slides, the central section has a fitted shelf and the right-hand cupboard comprises a fitted shelf and large cellarette draw, lined with original blue rice paper, incorporating a brass swan-neck handle. The cupboard doors retain the original working locks and key and locking door latches. The sideboard stands on the original block plinth base and retains the original pine backboards. It is useful to know that the sideboard dismantles into two sections for easy access into the house or through narrow doorways.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique early Victorian flame mahogany four-door chiffonier sideboard, with a breakfront design, circa 1840, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chiffonier sideboard has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. There are no stains or watermarks to the top. The drawers and doors close flush to the frame and there are no splits to the door panels. The doors retain their original working locks (with a working key). The carcass is solid in joint with no loose movements and there is no missing veneer. This item is solid in joint and ready to be used.
