Gents 9ct gold Rotary watch, 1969.

The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Rotary wings logo.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1969, with a sponsor’s mark for Sylvain Dreyfus.

Fabriques de Montres Rotary was established by Moise Dreyfuss in 1895, in Switzerland. By the 1920s, family members Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss began importing Rotary watches to Britain, which was to become the company's most successful market.

The case is in good condition, just a couple of small pin prick “dings” to the back and light surface marking but nothing too detrimental.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, seconds sweep with red detailing and an early form of quickset date where the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 8pm until the desired date is reached.

The watch has a ‘new old stock’ leather strap.

The watch comes in its Rotary presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
