Antique Waltham pocket watch, 1899.

The watch has a high grade 15-jewel stem-winding movement, grade 620, which is working nicely. The movement has nicely patterned plates, Church 1891 patent regulator and Breguet hairspring. It is fully signed and the serial number, 8,824,192, dates it back to 1899. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which some short scratches where the inner cover has been opened in the past.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made by the English watch case maker, Aaron Dennison, a prolific case manufacturer who supplied cases for the majority of the majority of Waltham watches imported into the UK.

The front of the case is in good condition. There are some lines of wear towards the edge of the hinged case back, and some of the original engine turned detail has rubbed.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has three short hairline cracks but they are faint, and not immediately noticeable to the naked eye. Breguet style blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
