Antique Military Campaign Secretaire Chest Of Drawers

Early 19th century brass-mounted teak campaign secretaire chest of graduated drawers with inset brass handles and consisting of two sections raised on turned feet that unscrew (replacements of correct design).
 
The top section houses the pull out secretaire drawer which has a removable retaining board to keep the smaller internal satinwood faced drawers, inkwell etc secure during transit. This central drawer has a working lock and key which is stamped Bramah, London.
 
This wonderful untouched chest with its glowing rich patina is from a country house estate and has remained in the same military family from the time it was purchased in the 19th century.

Wear and tear commensurate with age and use.
