Gents 9ct gold Longines wrist watch for Benson.
The watch has a Longines movement, calibre 12.91, which is working nicely.
92. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover .

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and is hallmarked for London (import mark) 1933, with an importer’s mark for Arthur Baume, sole importer of Longines watches to Britain and the British Empire.

Overall the case is in good condition for such an early piece. There are a couple of “dings” to the hinged case back.
The back of the watch has an inscription,’73576, Capt G W D Reeves, RAMC’. Records show that Captain Reeves served in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the second World War, listed as an ‘Officer with short service commission’.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and outer minute markers.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in its J W Benson presentation box… the lid does not shut fully as the strap is thicker than the original would have been.
