marble-topped commode chest .
. The top ‘blind’ frieze drawer above 3 further oak- lined deeper drawers fitted with their original cast gilt-brass decorative drop handles with back-plates and decorative gilt-brass escutcheon plates .

The sides of the chest flanked with gently tapering classical-style columns each with a well-cast and chased detail cap and corresponding base mounts . The chest raised on stylish reverse-dome feet to the front and block feet to the back .

The whole with its original polished finish and ‘skin’ which has achieved a rich colour and patination. Minor chips and ‘fritting’ to edge of marble slab ,minor historic chips and sympathetic repairs to o small areas of the mahogany veneer.
