A George III Mahogany Serpentine Chest

18th century
Description

A fine George III mahogany serpentine chest in the manner of Gillows. Raised on bracket feet with four long, mahogany lined and graduated drawers, the top one fitted with a rising, green baize lined writing slide. The chest is in finely figured "fiddle-back" mahogany and retains a good waxed patina and mellow colour. The handles are very old replacements. 870mm high, 1010mm wide and 580mm deep. Circa 1795.
