Description

Here we have a wonderful Louis XVII French Walnut chest of drawers or commode c1795. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. There is a beautiful Walnut top with rich colour and grain. There is a crossbanded border and a thumb moulded ebonised edge. There are four long drawers with chunky dovetail joints. There are original Iron locks and remarkably two original keys. The drawers fronts have a thumb moulded ebonised edge and wonderful original brass handles on a shaped cartouche. There are also raised cartouche to the sides and the whole sits on bracket feet. A super period chest in excellent retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 128 cm wide 59 cm deep 90 cm high.
