Omega Regina pocket watch, c1920.

The watch has a keyless top wind movement which is working nicely. The movement carries the Omega serial number 5,398,921 which dates it back to around 1920. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover which has some gentle unevenness.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel. The front of the case is in good condition. The hinged case back has unevenness.

The watch glass has a little nibbling to the very edge, not too detrimental.

The dial is signed Regina. It has a great look with an outer minute track with red numerals, and also an inner 24 hour track. There are a couple of very faint hairline cracks, and some damage to the edge but this is mostly covered by the bezel.

At the time this watch was made, Omega wanted to increase their share of the watch market in Canada. They were somewhat limited as Omega branded watches could only be sold through officially franchised Omega dealerships. In order to get around this issue, and to increase their sales, they purchased the Regina Watch Company from Louis Maier who first registered the name in 1888. Louis Brandt subsequently registered the Regina name to Omega in 1911.
