This High Quality Late 19th century Edwardian Mahogany Secretaire Chest ca. 1900 is very unusual in design and of nice slim tall proportions. It has a moulded top above a deep secretaire drawer that folds down using a brass mechanism.
Below is two working drawers, the lower is a deep drawer with divides, ideal for files. All the drawer fronts are beautifully figures with cock-beaded edges and decorative brass handles. The sides are canted with blind fretwork carvings and this quality antique Edwardian chest stands on Ogee bracket feet. The mahogany is a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
