Description

A superb, highly decorative walnut dresser from the Victorian period but of an earlier Queen Anne design. This piece is of a high quality craftsmanship which shows throughout. The cabriole legs have scrolled and foliate carvings to the shoulders whilst the feet terminate with a corresponding scroll. The oak lined drawers have wonderful chinoiserie decorations to the fronts, showing temples, deer, birds and trees. The breakfront top is crossbanded and has strongly figured walnut veneers, which have a small amount of rippling but nothing serious. This dresser is understated and yet quite striking in appearance. If that dresser had been genuine Queen Anne you could expect to times the price by ten. The condition is very good, cleaned and wax polished ready to use.
