Antique Waltham silver pocket watch.

The watch has a 13 jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 8,928,598 dates it back to 1898. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which bears the inscription, 'Henry W Bedford, 67 Regent Street, London', listed as an agent for the sale of American Waltham watches.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1900 with an importer's mark for Alfred Bedford, Manager of Waltham UK. The front of the watch is in good condition, just one fairly minor indentation to the bezel. The hinged case back has some unevenness.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The signed dial has several hairline cracks, most of which are faint. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
