C19th Burr Walnut Credenza Sideboard with Marble Top

This is a super quality and beautifully proportioned bow front 19th century English Credenza sideboard in burr walnut and marquetry with its original shaped Carrara marble top, circa 1880.

This is a generous size credenza but being a curved bow front, it certainly gives it a lighter feel and also means it would be suitable for various locations, such as a hall piece as well as being used as a dining server. But with it being such a beautiful piece of furniture and being the bow front, it could also work in a living room as a bookcase storage sideboard or even a large drinks cabinet too.

The burr walnut has a wonderful warm glow and the fine banded inlays and marquetry give it a real sense of quality, but the white and grey grained Carrara marble contrast the walnut.

Two central glazed doors are great for display storage and they are flanked with the beautifully curved hidden storage cupboards.

A great decorative piece of furniture and works well with a gilt mirror above as the example shows.
