Description

Here we have a stunning rare Charles II Oak chest of drawers c1680. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. There is a plank top with moulded edge. There are four full width drawers with moulded fronts. The drawers have solid Oak linings with chunky dovetail joints. The drawers have thick sides and are hung, typical of the period. The handles are single drops and appear to be period. The arcaded moulding to the second drawer is particularly decorative and a rare feature. The chest splits and has the original pegs. The chest is of pegged mortice and tenon construction throughout. The backboards are original and are fixed with hand made rose head nails. A super period and original chest in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 108 cm wide 109 cm high 55 cm deep.
