Description

Antique silver Waltham pocket watch, 1884.

The watch has a seven jewel key-wound movement, Home Watch Co grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 2356253 which dates it back to between March and May 1884. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover. A winding key is included.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1883 together with the AB initials for Alfred Bedford, the Manager of Waltham UK. Overall the case is in good condition for such an early piece, just a few mild bruises to the back.

The glass lens is in nice condition.

The signed dial has two hairline cracks between 7 & 8 o'clock but they are faint.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
