Early 18th Century Walnut and Pine Chest on Stand for Restoration

Description

A good quality early 18th century walnut chest on stand of great colour and patina. the un-finished oak top above an arrangement of two short drawers and three long drawers, supported on the original stand with a further long drawer and raised on 'ogee' bracket feet. With stained pine sides and pine drawer linings. Comes in three parts as the top section is divided (probably later).

Straight from a private house where it has remained in the same family for over 100 years. Now in need of restoration which would include numerous small veneer patches around edges of drawers and edges of the carcass, (no central patching required. several areas of broken and missing edge mouldings, drawer runners, possibly filleting of cracks in the sides and general tidying up of the surface.

The handles and feet are later replacements, the feet, probably in the mid 18th century. (Originally would have been raised on a legged stand with stretchers and bun feet).
