In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
It has a simple molded cornice and stands on small bracket feet. The drawers have brass plate handles which, although are not original, do suit the piece well. The two sections do split to make transport easier.
The whole piece is in good condition. It is sturdy and the oak lined drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well. It has developed a beautiful patina with a deep rich colour. There are signs of age and use, some small marks and knocks and minor old shrinkage splits in the sides but no major damages or anything detrimental.
