Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The commode ( or chest of drawers ) has been allowed to grow old gracefully, so there is so restoration to be done to tidy it up and also touch up those beautiful carved lions paw feet with gold, so they can be as dramatic as originally intended! ( All necessary restoration, cleaning and polishing will be done within the price quoted ).

Three full width drawers, all running well and have all their original lions mask ring pull handles. The keyhole escutcheons are also original, but sadly I don't have the original key.

The marble top gives a great contrast to the mahogany, rich charcoal tones and in good condition with no more than the usual signs of close to 200 years.
Great example of this wonderful period of French furniture and a really decorative piece.
