Really super quality and condition early c19th French mahogany Empire commode with original brass mounts, handles and charcoal grey and white marble top.

This is a substantial piece of furniture and has been able to grow old in great comfort by the condition. So it suggests it has been used more decoratively. Although with the three full width drawers and the fourth drawer being above in the frieze, this will give you great storage space if you were looking for a bedroom chest of drawers.

The brass handles, mounts and escutcheons are all of a fabulous quality and I do have the original key too.

The simple clean grain of the mahogany and tone give this commode real style and elegance for such a substantial piece. Standing on its original block feet with mouldings.

All four drawers run well and are stable.

Great piece of French Empire furniture in super condition and beautifully made.
