A far more interesting shape chest than a full bow front or they typical flat fronted chests, the "D" shape and flat column sides give it some elegance too.
The single piece Cuban mahogany top is outstanding, also equally stunning is the book matched mahogany veneers to the front, running through the drawers and also the frame itself.
The chest has had a change of handles at some point, but these are period solid brass handles with thistles, suggesting perhaps a Scottish theme.
Great colour tone and patina, good storage if you are looking for a practical piece, but this would also be a good choice for a decorative chest to go anywhere at home. Shown here with some example chairs and a French gilt trumeau mirror to give a sense of proportion.
