The single piece Cuban mahogany top is outstanding, also equally stunning is the book matched mahogany veneers to the front, running through the drawers and also the frame itself.The chest has had a change of handles at some point, but these are period solid brass handles with thistles, suggesting perhaps a Scottish theme.Great colour tone and patina, good storage if you are looking for a practical piece, but this would also be a good choice for a decorative chest to go anywhere at home.
