The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The movement hinges out of the case, a nice sign of quality.

The watch is a very wearable size at 26mm wide excluding the winding crown and 37mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks to the hinged case back for Glasgow (import mark) 1930. There is an unidentified importer's mark of M&J. The case is in good condition with just light marking. The back of the watch has the initials KGL and the date 16-5-38.

The curved lens has very minor marking, you have to look closely to see it.
The textured lens is in its original finish with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an inner minute ring... the black detailing is quite faded now.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
