Ww2 Longines Raf Issued Weems Issue No 1616, Dated 1940

Description

For sale, this fine WW2 Longines RAF issued Weems issue no 1616, dated 1940. The watch has just undergone a major overhaul and has now been returned to full working order. The watch retains its original and unrestored Longines signed dial and its original deep blued Longines handset. The original case has had a correct bezel locking crown and spring replaced and currently has a non-correct winding crown, which is easily rectified. The fully signed Longines gilt movement has been completely rebuilt and is now in fine working order. The case back shows wrist wear to the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths designation markings, but most are still strong and legible. The RAF issue Weems from 1940 are becoming increasingly difficult to source especially when retaining almost all original components.
