1930s Craftsman Pocket Watch

1930s Craftsman pocket watch.

The watch has a good quality Swiss Cyma stem-winding movement (15 jewels, three adjustments) which is working nicely. The movement is signed Craftsman. This brand name was registered by at least five watch companies, one of which would have bought the movements in from Cyma for watches to be sold under the Craftsman brand name.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, the Birmingham based company supplied various watch makers with cases. There is the odd minor mark but overall the condition is lovely for such an early piece.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There are two very faint hairline cracks, just about visible through a magnifying loupe.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
