Antique silver pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a 15-jewel Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some fairly gentle unevenness.

The watch measures 47mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for London (import mark) 1919 with a sponsor's / importer's mark for George Stockwell.

From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The case has a couple of small minor knocks to the side and some unevenness to the back commensurate with its age.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The dial is in lovely condition.

The watch comes with a single silver chain, 38cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Each of the graduated links has the lion silver mark although quite rubbed. The chain weighs 41g.

The watch and chain will come in a new presentation box.
